Lori B asked:

I need a new battery back up for my home computer and they come in a wide variety of prices and wattages, what is recommended? I live in a rural area in the mountains where power outages and surges are common.

For one that will still be another path for something coming in the power outlets and monitor also look for additional power cubes into the outside that way.

CRT monitors draw lots of juice. If you’re spending bucks on a UPS, then might as well pop for an LCD monitor.
